This report compiles the speeches and presentations made during the seminar entitled, "Parliament and the Budgetary Process, Including from a Gender Perspective," held in Nairobi, Kenya in May 2000. The seminar brought together participants from several African Parliaments to share their views and experiences on the respective roles of government and parliament in the budget process, the importance of gender budgeting, and the need for accountability and transparency in the budget process.
