Women have been urged to join the 62 political parties registered with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that they have equal access to leadership opportunities in the forth coming 2011 general elections.Secretary-General of the Women Rights Advancement and Protection Alternative (WRAPA), Saudatu Mahdi, made the plea at a workshop yesterday in Abuja. Participants at the workshop, drawn from grassroots and faith-based organizations, were trained to persuade rural women to partisan politics.
