The Chairman of the opposition Liberty Party, Atty. Fonati Koffa, said the Liberty is in the lead pushing the gender parity. Speaking at a fundraising dinner organized by Senator Nyonblee Karngar Lawrence and held at the Cape Hotel on Friday July 25, 2014, Atty. Koffa said the party will support women candidates to ensure success in politics.

"Without a 30% gender equity bill, the Liberty Party has been able to achieve the 30% going forward in this year's election. 30% of the candidates nominated are females. That shows you our commitment towards your bill, not only in name, but in our own action," he said.

The LP senior executive told partisans, including the party's political leader Cllr. Charles W. Brumskine, the party Chairman said, the party has always been in the interest of women in politics in Liberia and will do everything to ensure success at October polls for LP partisans.
