Algeria: Algeria's Female Presidential Candidate Appeals to Constitution Council

Secretary General of Algeria's Workers' Party Louisa Hanoune, who was the only woman in this year's presidential race, said that her staff has appealed to the Constitutional Council over what she called a case of election "fraud." Her remarks came a day after the official announcement of the preliminary results, which showed "Bouteflika received 12,911,707 of the votes cast," or 90.24 percent of all the votes cast.
