This report reviews the progress made in post-conflict Rwanda towards gender equality in an effort to understand elements from the country's experience that could be relevant in other post-conflict situations. It evaluates how UNIFEM's efforts contributed to promoting women's empowerment and how coordination could be strengthened to better support gender equality. In addition, it tests what potential value joint learning-oriented assessments have in building knowledge and improving practice.
