Affiliate Organizations
In this section, users and members can find links the list of iKNOW Politics Affiliate organizations that work in areas relevant to women in politics, from democracy and human rights to governance, leadership and development.
Our Current Affiliates are:
UN-INSTRAW: is a United Nations entity mandated to develop research and capacity-building programmes that contribute to the empowerment of women and the achievement of gender equality worldwide.
Through alliance-building with UN Member States, international organizations, academia, civil society, and other actors, UN-INSTRAW:
- Undertakes action-oriented research from a gender perspective;
- Creates synergies for knowledge management and information exchange; and
- Strengthens the capacities of key stakeholders to integrate gender perspectives in policies, programmes and projects.
The Institute works in three main thematic areas: i) Governance and women’s political participation at the local level; ii) Gender, migration and development; and iii) Gender, peace and security. For more information please contact UN-INSTRAW.
The Global Organization Against Corruption (GOPAC) is a membership based organisation of current and former parliamentarians committed to fighting corruption through the improvement of democratic governance. Organised into regional and national chapters, GOPAC pursues a global agenda of issues, which address the capacity of parliaments, and its members, to reduce corruption. Included in this agenda, are: UN Convention Against Corruption, Parliamentary Oversight, Parliamentary Ethics and Codes of Conduct and Anti Money Laundering Initiatives.
