Summary:

This paper analyzes the progress made in Rwanda with respect to women's political participation after the adoption of the new Rwandan Constitution. It looks at Rwanda's current political commitment to women's empowerment, the changes ushered in by the new constitutional provisions, the role of women's organizations in enhancing women's participation, and the challenges faced by women in the electoral processes.
