Regional Seminar "From Rhetoric to Practice: Best Practices for Women's Participation in Political Parties in Latin America"
One of the ways that International IDEA promotes the participation of women in politics here in the Andean Region, a seminar was ogranized on the 19th and 20th of May in Cartagena, Colombia. The Andean Regional Seminar "Best Practices for Women's Participation in Political Parties in Latin America", organized with the sponsorship of Norway's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECID) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), had several principal objectives:
1. Disseminate among female leaders of political organizations the report on "good practices" so that they implement these practices in the region to achieve equal participation of women in politics.
2. To collectively construct strategies to overcome obstacles that still exist and hinder the equal participation of women in politics.
The summary of the event and its concluding document are only available in Spanish.
