Morocco: Morocco Earmarks $1.14 mln To Boost Women's Representation
The Moroccan government said it has earmarked 10 million Dirhams (1.14 million U.S. dollars) in the 2009 finance act to boost women's political participation, local MAP news agency reported on Sunday. The fund will finance projects by the government and the political parties to promote women's participation in local and parliamentary elections, Benmoussa told politicians and civil society representatives at the launch of the second awareness-raising campaign on women's participation.
