Achieving the 50/50 representation target in Namibia by 2015
Namibia at the moment stands at over 30% women representation and 42% at the local governance level.

Below is the link to my article for the 16 days of activism against violence against women for the British national newspaper the Guardian.

- Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) women wing (UWT)in Kilimanjaro Region is planning to start women competition in business and politics, with the view to encourage more women to join politics and at the same time engage in income generating and subsequently fight poverty.
- Dubai School of Government (DSG) will be the knowledge sponsor for the first 'Arab Women Leadership Forum 2009' to be held in Dubai. The forum is being held under the patronage of vice-president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
- Executive Director for Gender Support Programme (GESP), Cecilia Mussa said on Saturday most political parties were favouring men to women to stand as aspirants, a situation she described as detrimental to achieving 50-50 representation in the National Assembly. Speaking at Dowa Community Ground where GESP held a voter registration awareness campaign, said most women lack support from their respective political parties, resulting in their withdrawal from primary elections.
