The iKNOWpolitics team is pleased to announce that Anita Vandenbeld has joined iKNOWpolitics as its Project Manager.
The iKNOWpolitics team is pleased to announce that Anita Vandenbeld has joined iKNOWpolitics as its Project Manager. Anita brings over twenty years of political and international development experience to the Network, specializing in parliamentary institution-building. Anita is committed to enhancing women’s political participation—she previously volunteered as Chapter Development Chair for Equal Voice, a Canadian multi-partisan organization to promote women in politics. Anita's professional experience includes Director of Parliamentary Affairs in the Office of the Leader of the Government in the House of Commons and Minister responsible for Democratic Reform (Canada), where she oversaw the development and implementation of the Government of Canada's Democratic Reform Action Plan. Anita was also Chief of Staff in the office of Senator Grant Mitchell (Canada), Policy Analyst with the National Liberal Caucus Research Bureau in the Canadian Parliament, and she has worked on dozens of political campaigns at the national and local levels.Anita’s international experience includes Senior Advisor and Deputy Chief of the Central Assembly and Political Parties Section of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Mission in Kosovo. Anita has also coordinated an anti-corruption campaign with the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), and worked on parliamentary development in BiH and Serbia with the Parliamentary Centre. Anita holds a Master of Arts Degree specializing in Canadian political history from York University. She will be based at the UNDP Oslo Governance Centre in Norway.
