Summary of E-Discussion on Eliminating Violence against Women in Politics

Summary of iKNOW Politics E-Discussion: Eliminating Violence Against Women in Politics (2010). Members identified forms of violence against women in politics and shared measures iniatied to counter the violence, from training of election monitors to the drafting and enforcement of specific legislation against harassment and political violence based on gender. The discussion underlined the need for further collection of evidence on women who have endured violence or threats of violence in the course of their political careers, and it was recommended that a global study on this subject be initiated.
