Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination of Women: Initial Report on Serbian Women, October 2006
The Initial Report on the Implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms ofDiscrimination against Women (hereinafter referred to as the Convention) for the period from 1992 to2003 (the first six months) relates to the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (hereinafter referred to as theFRY) and the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro (hereinafter referred to as S&M). Having inmind the changes in the organization of S&M in relation to the FRY as well as the position of itsmember states, it has been agreed that the Initial Report should consist of two parts. The competentorgans of the State Union and the competent organs of Serbia participated in the preparation of thepart relating to the FRY and Serbia, whereas the competent organs of Montenegro participated in thepreparation of the part relating Montenegro. Enclosed with the Report is also the part prepared by theCoordination Centre of Serbia and Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia for Kosovo and Metohijarelating to the situation in that region, submitted in the integral version.
