Call for Participation: Workshop for Canadian Women in International Security

The Research Group in Internation Security (REGIS) wishes to emphasize women’s presence and contribution in international security. In order to achieve this, REGIS will organize a workshop that will be held from May 1-4, 2008. Its first goal is to offer a platform for discussion and exchange for women working on security issues. During this conference, different activities will take place : academic presentations, career-building seminars, and a one day negociation exercise on conflict resolution. For the segment on academic presentations, REGIS is inviting proposals on security issues, writ large. Here are a few topics of interest :
Strategic Studies
Civil Wars
Weapons Proliferation
Peace Operations
Disarmament
Civil-Military Relations
Security and Defense Policies
Foreign Policy
REGIS is a collaborative group between Université de Montréal and McGill University. It is funded by the Canadian Security and Defense Forum (SFD). REGIS is pleased to organize this event in collaboration with l’Institut québécois des hautes études internationales (IQHEI).
Please send your proposals, along with a CV and letter of intent by February 6, 2008. Proposals may be submitted in English or in French and should not exceed 200 words. Submit your application at gersi@umontreal.ca
