Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi took to the campaign trail in Himachal Pradesh by exhorting the youth to be more participative in politics.
The young leader also talked about the merits of women in politics, saying states with politicians from the fairer sex were more developed than others.
"As long as you remain out of the system, as long as a new generation does not come into politics, this system cannot change," Rahul said, addressing a rally at Ghumarwin in Bilaspur district, 108 km from Shimla.
"I want to bring new people, youth and, particularly, women into politics. States where women joined politics have developed fast," he added.
