Women and children’s organizations in Sierra Leone have pleaded with President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma to set up national commissions for women and children in Sierra Leone, through which they will be able to channel issues affecting women and children in the country.
They made this appeal shortly after the launching of the Agenda for Prosperity over the weekend at the Miatta Conference Hall in Freetown.
Speaking on behalf of the women of Sierra Leone, Mrs Kenyeh Ballay of the Women’s Forum said: “On behalf of the women of Sierra Leone, I am pleading with the President to set up the national women’s commission for us, so that our voices can be adequately heard and our concerns addressed”.
