Tonga's future female politicians get a taste of parliament

It's been an historic few days in Tonga - with the country's first Practice Parliament for women being held.

The 32 participants have debated a motion to combat Youth Violence, a Youth Diversion Scheme and a Special Fund to assist the work of women in handicrafts, agriculture and fisheries.

As a result, many of the women have been inspired to stand in the parliamentary elections in November.
