Beijing +20 National Review, Australia

Australia is continuing to make significant progress in implementing the Beijing Declaration and Platform
for Action across all government jurisdictions. Five key achievements in progressing gender equality in
recent years are explored in this section:
• a national framework for addressing violence against women and their children;
• a national government-funded paid parental leave scheme;
• a National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security;
• international aid in the Indo-Pacific region; and
• a whole-of-government approach to action
