"The Women's Alliance did not only contribute immensely to increasing the number of women in Parliament and municipal councils but it also had a decisive influence on the whole political narrative and eventually on the political program of the traditional parties. Women's empowerment and issues of importance to women got more attention and the parties could no longer shy away from having a gender mainstreamed political program..."

 

"The three points mentioned in the report about Iceland, make clear that it is essential in order to put forward women's issues, to build collective women's assembly, groups, and unions in order to collectively call for changes. It is essential that women are given the platform to assemble and to create strong pressure groups, and robust work of activism..."
