Submitted by iKNOW Politics on

Dear iKNOW Politics Member,

Two more weeks to participate in our online discussions on online harassment and mentorship programs for candidates and elected female MPs, organized by iKNOW Politics.  We invite all members to join in the discussion and share experiences and ideas. Visit this link to contribute!

Below, please find the latest contributions to the discussion on virtual harassment:

"In Pakistan, virtual harassment has been new found tool for both politician and activist. Access to public information, life and pictures can be used to photo-shop and misused..."

"My experience in GREECE shows that there exists a virtual indirect bullying against women, which might not be so apparent and easy-to-understand; nevertheless it applies so strongly, that women, finally, are not represented adequately in the political scene.."

In this discussion we would like to hear from you whether you have ever faced online harassment and share good practices or laws which were effective in curbing online harassments.

Below, please find the latest contributions to the discussion on mentorship programmes:

"I established and coordinate the EMILYs List Australia candidate mentoring program which matches endorsed Australian Labor Party women candidates with experienced women campaigners, Members Of Parliament or ex Members of Parliament. The program has Bennett going for almost 18 years and we've probably matched about 350 women candidates with mentors..."

In this discussion we would like to hear from you on whether you ever been part of a mentorship program (as mentor or mentee) and if so, could you share your experiences? Do you know of successful mentorship projects targeting women candidates and parliamentarians and why these projects were successful?

Thank you in advance for your comments, inputs and feedback.

Best Regards,
iKNOW Politics
