A programme sponsored by the German foundation, Friedrich-Ebet Stifting, in collaboration with a women group in Ogun State, has provided an avenue for hundreds of women to fashion out ways to better their lots through wealth creation and active participation in governance, ahead of the approaching political season.
The coordinator of the programme, Yewande Afonja, said it was motivated by the notion that rural women need to exchange ideas about how best to play meaningful roles in the new political dispensation, in a nonpolitical setting.
