Purple Map shows women centers, day care centers and gender responsive municipal services of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality.

UN Women launched a gender responsive interactive tool called the Purple Map for the women of Ankara, the capital city of Turkey. The map, which is an easy to use guide that shows women centers, day care centers and gender responsive municipal services of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, aims to make the city safer for women.

2020 was a milestone year for women in politics in the US. The country saw the highest numbers of women entering Congress and the executive in its history.

After the November 2020 national elections, women make up 49 per cent of the Legislative Assembly of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, cementing its position as a forerunner on gender parity in politics. Following a virtual event on 18 November 2020, the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Office of the United Nations Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth published today a call to action on young women’s participation in politics.

The call to action identifies three priority areas for increasing young women’s representation in politics:
