Two Women's Council of Brunei Darussalam members have suggested forming a caucus group to further promote women's rights in the Sultanate.
The members plan to have a consultation with other Women's Council members on the proposed formation of the Caucus group as it is important for Brunei to form a caueus group, its vice-president 1, Pg Datin Paduka Hjh Mariam, said after returning from the three-day "Regional Women's Consultation on Advancing Women's Rights Advocacy" in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The Women's Caucus represents a network of women's human rights groups from some Asean countries engaging key Asean struetures and processes towards ensuring the realisation as well as protection of women's human rights and fundamental freedoms.
