Ghana: Women asked to get involved in politics

The National Coordinator of the Women in Law and Development in Africa(WILDAF), Ms Bernice Sam, has appealed to women to be courageous and get involved in politics, and also contest the district assembly and parliamentary elections.Ms Sam made the appeal at a five-day governance workshop on ‘awareness creation in politics’ for over 20 participants made up of traditional rulers, clergy, politicians, youth organisations and non-governmental organisations. The aim of the workshop was to encourage more women to get involved in politics and decision making by creating a conducive environmental for them through fora and durbars.
