Malaysia: Penang BN banking on women voters

Source:

Penang Barisan Nasional (BN) is relying on women voters to propel it back into power in the coming general election.

State BN chairman Teng Chang Yeow said the women's wing of the coalition in the state had an important role to play in garnering votes.

He said this was because the wing's strength was in connecting with the voters by going door-to-door at the grassroots level to gain support.

"The most important machinery is the women's wing and that is why we are concentrating on building them up," he said in his speech on Thursday night when closing the wing's election preparation workshop.
