Calm down, dear! Women and politics

This 'Ideas on the 3rd Floor' public event will explore and discuss women and politics.

Thursday 6 February 2014, 18.00 – 19.30

Speaking at this event, The Rt Hon Baroness Quin, former Minister for Europe; Julie Elliott MP, Shadow Minister for Energy and Climate Change; and Anne-Marie Trevelyan,  Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Berwick-upon-Tweed, will discuss the gender gap in politics. They will explore attitudes towards female politicians and how more women can be encouraged to participate in politics.

Ideas on the 3rd Floor is an exciting programme of in-house events on a wide range of topics within politics, culture and society. These events are designed to bring the freshest ideas and the most interesting thinkers to Newcastle for intelligent debate of some of today’s most pressing societal challenges. The events are designed to go beyond a straightforward Q&A, with plenty of time to hear contributions from members of the audience.
