COVID-19 and Elections: ensuring the electoral participation of persons with disabilities

UNDP and the Electoral Assistance Division of the United Nations Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs are co-organizing a webinar to discuss and share some good practices on the inclusion of persons with disabilities in electoral processes, particularly the challenges posed by the pandemic and the steps taken so far by Member States, regional and international organizations to promote the political participation of persons with disabilities, and to mitigate the COVID-19 related impediments for their participation. Participants will also exchange experiences on promoting inclusivity at all levels of the electoral process: for candidates, voters, electoral officials and poll workers, including any best practices on how countries are addressing the question of including persons with mental or intellectual impairments, particularly during the ongoing pandemic.
