CSW 67: Tech for Inclusion: Harnessing Digital Technologies to Combat Online Violence Against Women in Politics
Against the backdrop of the 67th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, which has "Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls" as its priority theme, UNDP is hosting a side event to explore the role that tech innovation can play in combating violence against women in politics.
Objectives
The virtual session is aimed to enable discussion and information sharing on the use of technology and AI to combat online violence against women in politics. The session will focus on sharing good practices towards achieving the goal of creating a safe and inclusive online environment for women in politics. The specific objectives of the session are to:
- Raise awareness about the issue of online violence against women in politics;
- Increase knowledge and understanding of the use of technology to combat violence against women in politics; and
- Showcase the efforts, initiatives and tools to combat online violence against women
