Parliamentary Elections in Germany

On September 22, 62 million Germans will be asked to vote for the members of the Bundestag or Germany’s lower house. From a total of 622 seats, 204 are currently occupied by women (32.90%). Although quotas in Germany are not mandatory by law, some political parties implement them when elaborating their candidates list. Women's suffrage was introduced in Germany in 1918.
