Enhancing Women's Political Participation in Africa (Women in Political Participation (WPP) is a Pan-African gender project on the different facets of Women and Politics in Africa. Funded by Sida and implemented by International IDEA, it aims to advance gender equality in politics and governance, in line with the Maputo Protocol of 2003, various associated sub-regional protocols and standards, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

NDI will tell us a bit about their Survey “The use of ICTs for women in politics”, Ms. Oyungerel, Member of Parliament in Mongolia, will share her experience during the “Women CAN Campaign” and Ms. Danya Bashir Hobba, a Libyan activist and Executive Director for “Social Media for Change”, will show us the power of social media in reshaping societies.

On October 14 through 19, Ibero-American Municipal Leaders Week: "Good Governance and Quality of Local Democracy" and the 10th Congress of the Ibero-American Union of Municipal Leaders were held in Almería (Spain), organized by the the Ibero-American Union of Municipal Leaders (UIM), together with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), the Almería Town Council, Almería District Council and the Menéndez Pelayo International University.
