61% voting, women outnumber men, India

Women voters on Sunday outnumbered men in the fourth phase of the assembly elections in Jharkhand. Around 61 per cent voting was reported from across the 15 constituencies that went to the polls, officials said. 

"The highest polling was reported from Chankayari with 71.28 per cent, followed by 70.2 per cent in Madhupur. Polling was by and large peaceful. The turnout in Maoist-affected areas was more than 60 per cent," a poll official said.
