Female MPs told to act, South Africa

 Women leaders in Parliament have called on female MPs to influence decisions on the adoption of tough policy measures to curb gender-based violence. Chairperson of the multi-party women’s caucus in Parliament Beauty Dlulane and chairperson of the portfolio committee on women, children and people with disabilities Dorothy Ramodibe, on Monday slammed continued incidents of violence against women and children and called for female MPs to influence policies to fight the scourge.
