Pakistan: Altaf Promises Law to End Violence against Women

Altaf Hussain promised on Thursday that if the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) came into power it would legislate to award exemplary punishments to those who committed inhuman acts against women.

The MQM chief made this promise as he made a telephonic address from London to a public meeting at the Lal Qila Ground on the occasion of International Women’s Day. During the address, he promoted the slogan of “No democracy without the participation of women”.
