Viet Nam: Raising the number of female National Assembly Deputies

Many arguments by female National Assembly (NA) deputies have helped to resolve burning issues in recent times. The Party and State are aware of the need to increase the number of female NA deputies. They aim to raise the proportion of women NA deputies in the upcoming election to 30 percent. However, to achieve this target requires efforts from women and support from Party committees at grass root levels and local administrations as well as accurate view of women’s roles in socio-political activities.
