Afghanistan

This paper describes women’s civil society in Afghanistan and assesses the needs of Afghan women’s non-governmental organizations and community. It also provides policy recommendations on building and sustaining a strong Afghan women’s civil society.

Recent decades have witnesses growing demands for the inclusion and empowerment of women leaders as elected representatives. Women representatives have made important strides in some nations, but progress worldwide has proved sluggish.

This manual is a legal and institutional resource intended for parliamentary candidates, parliamentarians, and legal/political organizations. It is structured to serve as a training resource on how to study and refer to the Constitution of Afghanistan.
