Country on target towards 50% female representation in Federal National Council.

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs (MFNCA) has organised a dialogue session to promote political participation among Emirati women.

UAE, in conjunction with Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security, GIWPS, has launched a research report and a UN action plan to advance women’s participation in post-conflict reconstruction, following a year-long series of high-level panel discussions on the subject, UAE's state-run news agency Wam reported.

Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation, has order a national strategy to support women’s empowerment and gender parity over the next 50 years.

The road map must make women partners in sustainable development, while considering their education needs and family obligations, said the chair of the General Women's Union.

Abu Dhabi: As per the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Emirati women's representation in the Federal National Council, FNC, will be increased to 50 per cent in the coming parliamentary term.

The step reflects the country's future approach aimed at achieving full empowerment of Emirati women and emphasises their pioneering and effective role in all vital sectors of the UAE.
