This week Schulz kicked off the spring forward for women conference, which aims to bring about ideas for encouraging political representation of women, with particular focus on women in Arab countries.

The conference comes as world leaders gear up for the 59th session of the commission on the status of women, due to take place next March at the UN headquarters in New York. At this meeting, heads of states will discuss the progress that has been made 20 years after the implementation of the Beijing platform for action - an agenda for the empowerment of women.

The Girl Guides once taught young women to cope away from civilisation with camping trips and nature skills.

Now, they are more concerned with helping them face the challenges of modern life.

The youth group yesterday took its first step into politics, demanding school lessons in body confidence and equal numbers of men and women in Parliament.

As political parties concentrate around preparations for the Constituent Assembly (CA) election, protest programs demanding 33 percent women´s representation in the new CA has fallen under shadow. 

Inter Party Women Network (IPWN) had 3 weeks ago planned to carry out agitations in the capital at four different places to create pressure for the demand to be met. 
However, on seeing the parties too busy to notice them, IPWN had to cancel its street protests.
