BENIN: Presidential Elections - First Round
Benin will hold the first round of its presidential elections March 6th.
The incoming President will be elected by absolute majority vote through a two-round system to serve a 5-year term.

Benin pushes back election as hurdles increase
Electoral commission officials in Benin have postponed the country’s presidential election from February 27 to March 6 2011.
In a statement on state TV, the body said this was due to problems with the electronic voter registration list.
“This is an unforeseeable circumstance,” the statement said.
