UGANDA: Presidential and Parliamentary Elections

On February 18th, Uganda is holding presidential and parliamentary elections. The President is elected by popular vote to serve a 5-year term. In the National Assembly, 214 members are elected by direct popular vote to serve 5-year terms, 81 members are nominated by legally established special interest groups to serve 5-year terms and 10 members are designated ex officio to serve 5-year terms.
