Sri Lanka: Lanka Still Poor On Women’s Political Participation

8 April 2012 - The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) says Sri Lanka still performs poorly on women’s political participation despite relative gains against MDG indicators on gender parity in education and wage employment.

A UNDP statement said that in Ampara female participation in local governance structures is amongst the lowest in the country.
