Too often, when an end to conflict is negotiated, only those who bear arms gain a seat at the table. But research and global experience show that peace processes are significantly less likely to fail when they are broadly inclusive. The participation of women, in particular, can change the content of discussions and the dynamics between parties in a myriad of positive ways, leading to more sustainable outcomes.

For the 15th annual forum in this “Inclusive Security” series, join senior military, government, and civil society leaders as they speak about their experiences bridging divides to end violent conflict nationally and internationally. The discussion will include experts from Afghanistan, Colombia, The Philippines, Rwanda, Syria, and the audience.
