Empowering youth against disinformation through media and information literacy

This session will focus on exploring the types of activities youth organisations can do to educate themselves about disinformation and critical thinking.
Online disinformation campaigns —whether driven by foreign or domestic agitators- are becoming an increasing challenge for democracies, shaping public opinion in ways that undermine informed decision-making. Equipping young people with strong information literacy and critical thinking will empower them to make up their own minds and filter the sources of information that are fundamental to a healthy society.
Through concrete examples of, on-the-ground projects in Africa, Blaise Pascal Andzongo (Trainer and consultant in media and information literacy) will provide both theoretical insights and practical guidance to help you develop impactful activities on this critical topic for a healthy democracy. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions, deepen your understanding, and challenge yourself to design effective initiatives in the future.
The session will be in French with English interpretation so join us!
