Women’s empowerment, participatory local governance and non-stereotyped approaches to wo/men’s roles are at the heart of the “Women in Local Democracy” project, which is currently being implemented by UNDP Armenia and funded by the European Union.
Capacity Building
Although much of the iKNOW Politics network is dedicated to increasing women’s political knowledge and participation, there are a number of skills that, while not explicitly political, are necessary to succeed in politics.
The "Women in Local Democracy" Project addresses women’s representation and meaningful participation in decision-making processes in Armenia. WiLD is comprised of three main dimensions: women’s empowerment, strengthening the capacity of local government, and promotion of gender equality.
