The Challenge of Implementing Gender Responsive Legislation in Central Asia

This report describes the processes and challenges faced by the Central Asian countries moving towards creating gender equality in governance. It focuses on the following three main areas: economic empowerment through gender responsive labor legislation; implementation of gender responsive social security legislation; and gender aspects of land tenure and land entitlement.
