Beyond the peace process: Women and political transitions panel series

The National Democratic Institute (NDI) is organizing panel series on Capitol Hill that will bring greater focus to the political participation aspects of the implementation of the 2017 Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Act. The WPS Act and its recently published strategy confirms and expands the role of the United States in promoting women’s political participation around the world.

NDI’s panel discussions will focus on the opportunities for the U.S. to showcase its strong leadership for women’s full integration into the institutions and processes of decision-making that affect their lives, and that of their communities and countries - beyond the peace process.

The panel discussion for 14th Novembre will focus on the necessary components of ensuring the full and equal participation of women in political processes. With special guest, Congresswoman Gwen Moore.
