CWPPP & WGS event: Women mayors making a difference

The Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy and the Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus organise a new event on the Go Local Spring Speaker Series.

Massachusetts has 351 cities and towns; 48 of these have mayors. However, only 20% of the mayors are women. Four women mayors—from different regions of the state—will discuss their election campaigns, their policy priorities, and their perspectives on what it will take to make gender parity the norm for Massachusetts mayors.

The four speakers will be Mayor Kim Driscoll of Salem, MA, Mayor Ruthanne Fuller of Newton, MA, Mayor Yvonne Spicer of Framingham, MA, and Mayor Linda Tyer of Pittsfield, MA. Moderating the event will be Janet Wu, a Political and Investigative Reporter from WCVB.
