12 Mar 2012 - Dozens of women seeking to vie for political positions have allegedly been 'bought off' by politicians for fear of competition in the next general election, an NGO has said.

Centre for Law and Research International, which has conducted research on women empowerment and governance issues, says that one of the major challenges has been male politicians, who have been threatening and others buying off women aspirants.
