The emergence of three women as House of Assembly members-elect in the recently concluded Governorship/House of Assembly elections in Ondo State has been described as "good fortune" for the womenfolk.
Making the observation in Akure, the state capital, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Kehinde Momoh, in her letter of congratulation to the new female lawmakers attributed the success to the encouragement and various support received from wife of the state governor, Mrs. Olukemi Mimiko, coupled with the sheer interest which Governor Olusegun Mimiko has for the female gender.
