Uganda: Why Museveni falls for women

Source:

15 April 2012 - After two years of searching for the right person to become Inspector General of Government, President Museveni last week revealed that he had found a ‘game warden who would not be a poacher’.

And when State House announced Justice Irene Mulyagonja as the President’s choice, one interesting thing was that it was a woman or, more precisely, another woman.

Of course women make up more than half of Uganda’s population, and in Speciosa Wandira Kazibwe Museveni gave Africa her first female Vice President back in 1994; yet the choice of Mulyagonja, coming now, suggests that Museveni increasingly trusts women more to handle difficult tasks.
