The Beninese government plans to establish a National Institute for Women, aimed at improving the welfare for women who account for more than 52 per cent of the country's population, according to a cabinet meeting statement issued here Monday. When established, the institute will provide a framework for meetings and exchanges among women and seek to promote human rights, particularly as it affects women in Benin, according to the statement.
